    • Oman’s Health Ministry announces administering seasonal influenza vaccine for targeted groups

    Muscat: The Ministry of Health announces to citizens the commencement of administering the seasonal influenza vaccine for the following targeted risk groups:

    Adults and children aged 6 months and above with chronic diseases such as (respiratory, heart, renal, hepatic, neurological, blood or metabolic disorders, (including uncontrolled diabetes) and severe obesity and immunocompromised individuals)

    Health Care workers, including students enrolled in medical specialties.

    Pregnant women.

    People going for Umrah /Pilgrimage.

    Children aged 24 months.

    Persons aged 60 years and older

    The above mentioned targeted groups should attend the nearest healthcare institution to take the seasonal influenza vaccine in order to avoid influenza infection that can cause serious respiratory complications.

    The Ministry would also like to clarify that vaccine is available in the private sector for citizens and residents from non-targeted groups who wish to get vaccinated.
