Muscat: Dr. Rahma Ibrahim Al Mahrouqi, Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation received here today Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal, President of the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkiye (TUBITAK).
The visit comes within the framework of the Ministry’s aim to strike strategic international partnerships that contribute to developing higher education, research and innovation in the Sultanate of Oman. It also boosts the Ministry’s role in transferring international scientific experiences and technologies.
Al Mahrouqi highlighted the capabilities and incentives offered at the Innovation Park Muscat (IPM), as well as the role of the Ministry in supporting research and innovation in Oman.
On his turn, Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal, President of TUBITAK underscored the bilateral relations between the two countries. He also expressed his keenness to boost scientific cooperation through an agreement that will be signed in the near future by the two sides.
The two sides discussed areas of cooperation through the draft agreement. They also agreed to form a work team to study the possibility of holding a scientific event that brings together higher education establishments from Oman and Turkiye.
The two sides also reviewed the possibility of establishing joint research projects and means of benefiting from the Turkish side in terms of transforming innovations into industrial projects.
Meanwhile, the guest and his accompanying delegation toured the Innovation Park Muscat. During the visit they viewed IPM’s various facilities.
