Muscat: The revenues of 3-5-star hotels in Oman stood at RO 110 million as at the end of June 2023, up by 32% over the corresponding period in 2022.
Statistics issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) show that the total number of hotel guests grew by 27.4 percent to RO 943,068 by the end of June 2023, compared to 740,050 during the corresponding period in 2022.
Hotel occupancy posted a growth of 10.8.
As many as 337,682 of hotel guests were Omanis, according to the NCSI, which indicated that 72,849 of hotel guests were GCC citizens (up by 28.7 percent), 250,151 were European citizens (an increase of 46.3 percent), 29,899 were Americans (up by 3.2 percent), 5,451 were citizens from African countries (41.3 percent up), while the number of hotel tenants from Asian countries increased by 54 percent to 141,007. The number of hotel tenants from Oceania countries surged by 252.2 percent to 21,834.
