Oman’s Housing Ministry launches 5 new sites for integrated residential neighborhoods

Muscat: The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning launched today 5 new sites for integrated residential neighborhoods “Sorouh” in five governorates, namely North Al Sharqiah, North Al Batinah, South Al Batinah, Musandam and Dhofar, with a total area of ​​more than 1.8 million square meters. During a workshop on “real estate development projects”, the purchase will take place next Sunday at the Ministry’s General Office.

Engineer Masoud bin Saeed Al Hashimi, Director General of Real Estate Development at the Ministry, explained that the workshop came as a prelude to introducing new sites for the establishment of integrated residential complexes, and to introduce the principle of partnership that will be in the partnership agreements between the government and real estate developers, and the mechanism for evaluating proposals and projects submitted by developers of these sites. He added that the workshop aims to exchange ideas and find solutions to the challenges facing the sector and developers in particular, in implementing or investing in projects.

For his part, Engineer Osama bin Nasser Al-Harbi, Director of the Integrated Residential Neighborhoods Department “Sorouh”, indicated that the complexes that will be launched next Sunday will be in the wilayats: Sohar, Rustaq, Salalah, Sur, and Khasab. He added that the neighborhoods are expected to accommodate more than 5,000 housing units.
