    • Oman’s Interior Ministry Announces Final Lists of Candidates for Shura Council’s 10th Term Membership

    Muscat: The Ministry of Interior today announced the final lists of candidates for the Shura Council’s 10th Term membership. The names were published both via elections app “Intikhab” and the elections website (elections.om).

    As many as 843 candidates, among them 32 women, will be contesting the elections.

    As per Article 44 of the Shura Council Elections Law, candidates may stage electoral campaigns to introduce themselves, right from the date of announcement of final lists until the penultimate day of voting. The deadline for withdrawing candidacy will be on Sunday, 3 September 2023. – ONA
