Muscat: The Ministry of Interior will launch tomorrow (Wednesday) the second version of public dialogue via “Intikhab” app, which aims to exchange views and present proposals and ideas serving the public interest.
The second version of such dialogue gains impetus from the success made by the first public dialogue, launched in conjunction with municipal councils’ third term membership elections.
The dialogue is in line with the goals of Oman Vision 2040, which seeks to enhance the principle of community engagement.
The second dialogue provides for video dialogue and audio recording features that allow direct visual contact among interlocutors.
It enables the participants to discuss various issues related to the electoral process—through live video broadcasts in which a number of academics and interested parties are hosted.
The dialogue session furnishes a public arena for civil society institutions, associations, heads and members of student advisory councils in universities. Besides the main topics, the users can formulate sub-themes, so that the arena acts as a wider platform for exchanging opinions and submitting proposals serving the concept of community participation in the electoral process. – ONA
