Muscat: Heavy rainfall expected over some governorates of the Sultanate of Oman today, Saturday, May 27, 2023, according to the Oman Meteorology
In a statement the Oman Meteorology said, heavy rainfall is expected on Saturday from 11:30 AM- 9 PM on mountainous areas over the Governorates of South Al-Sharqiyah, North Al-Sharqiyah, parts of Muscat, Al-Dakhiliyah and South Al-Batinah, and may extend to coastal areas of Oman Sea.
The expected impact of the weather:
1. Heavy rainfall may range between 15-30 mm, which may lead to flash wadis.
2. Poor horizontal visibility due to dust rising during rainfall.
3. Downdrafts winds (35-65) knots.
Oman Meteorology has urged people to stay away from low places and wadis and to not attempt to swim in wadis, as well as to keep an eye on children and never allow them to approach or risk crossing wadis for the sake of public safety.
