Muscat: Oman’s Minister of Health, H.E Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Saidi takes part in COVAX Summit

In a statement MOH said: Assigned by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, H.E. Dr Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Saidi, Minister of Health took part today (Wednesdy) in the virtual Gavi COVAX Advance Market Commitment Summit, which runs by the Worth Health Organization (WHO) and its partners,

The event aimed to accelerate the equitable distribution of the Covid-19 vaccine in low-income countries, as Gavi ensures the equitable distribution of several vaccines including polio vaccination and others, which is an important step against pandemics in the world, added in the statement MOH

MOH also stated, Al-Saidi praised the tireless efforts of Gavi in making the world more livable for millions of people, despite the innumerable challenges it faced and continues to face due to the pandemic. He added that COVAX has demonstrated its ability to horbor solidarity and to start a movement towards a more equal global distribution of vaccines. In addition, the minister of health stressed in his speech the necessity to support COVAX in order to address the shortage in the inadequate funds. Choosing  the Sultanate to participate in this global event for its health international standing, which making the sultanate a link between territories of the region.
