Muscat: Salim Mohammed Al Mahrouqi, Minister of Heritage and Tourism, received at the Ministry’s General Office today HE Dr. Bandar bin Fahd Al Fahid, President of the Arab Tourism Organization, and the accompanying delegation, in the presence of His Excellency the Undersecretary for Tourism and a number of officials from both sides.
During the meeting, the course of existing procedures for registering the city of Tire as the Arab Tourism Capital during the coming year was reviewed according to the nomination file that was submitted to the secretariat of the Council of Arab Tourism Ministers and the Arab Tourism Organization, focusing on the position of the Arab world in global tourism and how to better utilize its position, in addition to discussing the training plan.
The qualifications provided by the Arab Tourism Organization and the investment program proposal in cooperation with banking institutions. His Excellency the Minister also reviewed the comprehensive tourism development plan in the Sultanate of Oman and future plans for the tourism sector that are consistent with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.
