Oman’s Minister of Housing: The number of distributed residential lands and registered applications exceed one million plots until 2020

Muscat: His Excellency the Minister of Housing and Urban Planning announces that the trial run of the “Amlak” platform for integrated digital services will be launched tomorrow / Tuesday, which includes 50 electronic services related to development and the real estate registry and providing services to citizens and investors in the field of housing and others.

His Excellency Dr. Khalfan bin Saeed Al Shuaili, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, stated that the total number of distributed residential lands and applications registered until 2020 amounted to one million and 319 thousand lands, 48 ​​percent of which are durable and 52 percent are non-durable, and the number of registered applications for residential lands reaches 509 thousand applications.

His Excellency indicates that 85 percent of the project to transfer people affected by the activities of the Sohar Industrial Port (Liwa Model City) has been completed, with a cash compensation rate of 85 percent and lands compensation 97 percent, 476 housing units under implementation, 85 percent of the completion of facilities, facilities and government buildings, and 100 percent in infrastructure and public services.

With regard to the Al Batinah Coastal Road Compensation Project, His Excellency clarifies that the route of the first phase (Barka – Al Musanah, and Liwa – Shinas) has been handed over to the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology.

His Excellency shows that in the second phase (Al Suwaiq – Al Khaboura – Saham – Sohar), the in-kind compensation for the homes was completed at 96 percent, the in-kind compensation for the farmer was completed at 58 percent, and the cash compensation for the disbursed amounted to 84 percent.

His Excellency says that the number of initiatives identified by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning in 2022 is about 113 initiatives, represented by 39 initiatives in urban planning.

23 in housing, 4 in financial sustainability, 8 in competencies and capacity building, 8 in quality of services and simplification of procedures, 13 in digital transformation, 12 in governance, and 6 identity initiatives.
