Oman’s Minister reviews technologies at Sheremetyevo Airport in Russia

Muscat: Eng. Said Hamoud Al Maawali, Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology on Saturday got an opportunity to see the workflow of Sheremetyevo International Airport in Russia.

Sheremetyevo Airport is one of the largest international airports in the Russian Federation.

The minister and his accompanying delegation inspected the workflow at the airport, the services and facilities it provides to travellers, the mechanism for finalising travel procedures and technologies for completing travel procedures and services and facilities it renders to passengers while they are at the airport until they leave.

The minister was briefed by the airport’s executive management about the components, facilities, capacity, freight solutions, logistics services, capabilities of the international airport, and the various airlines operating flights to international destinations.

The minister also visited Kazan Federal University, one of the oldest Russian universities and the most popular academic destination for international students around the world.

During his tour of the university, he was apprised about the courses on offer, and also saw the manuscripts of the Holy Quran.

It is worth noting that the Sultanate of Oman is participating in the activities of the International Economic Forum “Russia – the Islamic World”, in Kazan, Russian Federation. The minister was accompanied by Eng. Khamis bin Mohammed Al Shamakhi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology for Transport, and Hamoud bin Salem Al Tuwayh, Ambassador of Oman to the Russian Federation. – ONA
