Muscat: The Ministry of Education celebrated honoring the winners of the Holy Quran Competition for the academic year (2022-2023) at the JW Marriott Hotel Muscat.
The honoring ceremony, which was held under the patronage of Dr. Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Maamari, Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs, and organized by the General Directorate of Curriculum Development, represented by the Department of Islamic Education, included examples of students’ readings of verses from the Holy Quran.
Dr. Abdullah bin Khamis Ambusaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for Education, delivered a speech in which he said: This ceremony comes to honour the winning students in the Holy Qur’an competition held by the Ministry of Education every year in its 46th edition, to crown our students and support them to continue their journey in memorizing the Holy Book of Allah. The role of the Ministry of Education in developing the interest of our students in reciting and memorizing the Holy Qur’an takes several paths.
The Undersecretary for Education explained that the Ministry of Education was keen on everything that would advance educational cadres and hone their skills and abilities.
The Department of Islamic Education Curricula Development received this attention – and praise be to Allah – and this is evident in some of the projects and activities that were implemented in the department, including the electronic Qur’an project. An integrated vision of the electronic Holy Quran Competition judging program was also presented to serve as a database for the competition, taking into account transparency and flexibility in judging, and helping to speed up the results and approve them.
The honoring ceremony activities also included a visual presentation on the stages of judging the competition, and a representative scene prepared by the Special Education Department.
In conclusion, (120) winners of the Mastering Recitation and Beautiful Voice Competition were honored, the students who won in the five levels of the Holy Qur’an Memorization Competition for the academic year 2022-2023, and the winners from the category of people with hearing and visual disabilities, in addition to the educational governorates that won first places. The teachers supervising the students and the principals of the schools that won the competition.
The event was attended by Her Excellency Dr. Madiha bint Ahmed Al Shaibaniyah, Minister of Education, Their Excellencies Undersecretaries and advisors, General Directors of the General Directorates of the General Office of the Ministry and the Educational Governorates, the first supervisors of Islamic Education at the level of the Educational Governorates, the honored students, the teachers supervising them, and the parents of the honored students. .
