Oman’s Ministry Signs MoU with Celesta Capital Company

Muscat: The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology today signed a memorandum of understanding with Celesta Capital company in the field of information and communications technology.

The MoU was signed in cooperation with the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones. It deals with opportunities for funding technical startups and securing their capitals’ participation in business ventures, besides assisting leading companies (in the field of information technology) to create solutions and applications.

Celesta Capital company will also take steps to make Oman a gateway for promoting the products and companies in which the firm invests. This is besides opening up Celesta Capital company’s marketing network for Omani technology companies.

The MoU also defines the role of Celesta in providing support in the field of manufacturing and testing solutions of drones technologies for security purposes in the field of blockchain technologies, cryptocurrency (bitcoin), data mining.

It also covers opportunities to transfer the company’s activities to the Special Economic Zone in Duqm, and to establish a center for data mining and third-generation Web technologies (Web3.0) in the region, in addition to supply chains, the Internet of Things and artificial intelligence.

The memorandum was signed on the part of the Ministry by Fahd Sultan Al Abri, Director General for Sector Stimulation and Future Skills, and on the part of the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones by Abdulmajeed Abdullah Al Ansari. Celesta Capital was represented at the signing ceremony by Sriram Viswanthan, General Co-Founder in Celesta Corporation.
