Oman’s Mobile Broadband Internet Subscribers Increase 8.1% by end July 2023

Muscat: Statistics issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) show that the total number of subscriptions of fixed-line phone fixed with  Internet Protocol technology  (IPT) increased by 9 percent, while the number of mobile broadband Internet subscribers rose by 8.1 percent by the end of July 2023 compared to the same period in 2022.

Statistics issued by the National Center for Statistics and Information showed that the total fixed-line telephone subscriptions connected to Internet Protocol technology amounted to about 277,479 subscriptions at the end of last July, while the total fixed-line subscriptions, including prepaid and post-paid, decreased by 10.3 percent to reach 231,015 subscriptions.

Statistics showed that the number of mobile phone subscriptions increased by the end of last July by 9.6 percent, recording 7 million 55 thousand and 36 subscriptions, and the largest number of mobile phone subscriptions were prepaid; The number of subscriptions reached 5 million, 312 thousand and 178 lines, with an increase of 6.7 percent until the end of July 2023. The number of active mobile broadband Internet subscriptions reached 6 million 8 thousand and 211 subscriptions.
