    Avoid clicking suspicious links says MoCIIP

    Muscat: An online fraud scheme has been detected involving a fake ministry link used to receive reports of scams related to online purchases. We urge everyone to avoid clicking on suspicious links and never share their personal information.

    MoCIIP said: The Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion has detected an online fraud scheme involving A fake ministry link used to report scams when purchasing online.Fraudsters impersonate government officials and contact the complainant via the email ([email protected] , offering a supposed service to protect bank accounts, only to then request personal information to steal funds from the bank account.

    We urge everyone to avoid clicking suspicious links and never share personal data. For inquiries or to report fraud, you can contact the ministry’s call center at 80000070 or through the ministry’s official social media accounts. Wishing you continued success .
