Oman’s MOH appreciates royal orders to approve annual budget to assist children with type 1 diabetes

Muscat: The Ministry of Health appreciates the royal orders to approve an annual budget for the Ministry of Health to provide electronic sensor devices to measure sugar levels and insulin pumps for children with type 1 diabetes.

Dr. Hilal bin Ali Al Sabti, Minister of Health, confirmed in a press statement that this generous gesture is a manifestation of His Majesty’s continuous interest and care to advance comprehensive health care for citizens and provide all its causes and components to advance the health system to the highest levels.

His Excellency said: “The group of children afflicted with type 1 diabetes often faces difficulty living with the disease, and with the presence of these sensors and pumps, their coexistence will be more flexible, and these devices will have therapeutic value for those afflicted people who face a constant and life-threatening danger, represented by… Severe low or high blood sugar levels, which may directly lead to death.”

His Excellency added: Electronic sensors and insulin pumps are the acceptable and best option for children, and they will also reduce long-term complications that will affect various organs of the child’s body.
