Oman’s MOH says stop using these 2 baby milk

Muscat: The Ministry of Health called on consumers on Monday to stop using two infant formula.

In a statement MOH said:”It had received a notification from the manufacturing company in the USA that these two infant formulas may be contaminated with bacteria.

The two infant formula are Similiac EleCare (0-12 months) and Similiac EleCare Jr (1 year and older) the ministry of health said in a statement in twitter.

The Ministry explained the details of the producers as follows:

Trade name: “Similac
Elicare” and “Junior” Elicare.

It is a specially formulated amino acid based infant formula powder. The infant formulas are only sold under a prescription in pharmacies, and it is only used under medical supervision. The ministry said.

Both products are used in the nutritional control of cases of protein malabsorption, severe food allergies, short bowel syndrome, acidic digestive disorders, GI upset, or other conditions that require an amino acid-based diet

The Ministry indicated that these two products are available in the Sultanate of Oman with the operational number (located at the bottom of the box):

30384 Z200 It is used for infants from 0 to 12 months of age for oral or tube feeding.

34772 Z201 for 1 year or older

Country of Origin / Manufacture: USA

The ministry calls on all users of this formula to stop using it as a precaution, noting that other products in the local markets are not included in this alert.
