Muscat: The Ministry of Labour today issued an indicator on the performance of the “employment and replacement of expatriates” for the third quarter of 2022, in addition to an indicator on training.

The indicators reflect the Ministry’s keenness on employment, on-the-job training and the localization of jobs—an ultimate objective that is accorded great attention by the government.

As many as 31,354 Omanis received jobs during the 3rd quarter of 2022, constituting 90% of the target number of 35,000.

In the government sector, the localization of jobs stood at 9,657 and comprised 96% of the target number of 10,000.

In the private sector, as many as 13,544 received jobs, comprising 84% of target number of 16,000.

In the government sector, training soared 273% over the target number of 2,000. Employment opportunities resulting from training stood at 5,460. In the private sector, on-the-job training stood at 2,693 and comprised 38% of the target number of 7,000.
