Nizwa: The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, in cooperation with the Governorate of Al Dakhiliyah and the Artificial Intelligence Technology Company, organized a workshop today on the Future of Artificial Intelligence program and its impact on society.
The program reviews current developments in the field of artificial intelligence, and the challenges and opportunities that this rapid technological progress can present to society and the economy.
The first session of the program included a presentation on the executive program for artificial intelligence, advanced technologies, and the uses of generative artificial intelligence in various sectors such as education, health, and public services, in addition to the mechanism for benefiting from generative artificial intelligence in accomplishing daily tasks.
The second session dealt with the effects of artificial intelligence on society and the skills it requires to enhance societal capabilities, while the third session dealt with a detailed explanation about robots and their uses in various fields provided by the Artificial Intelligence Technology Company. As for the last session, it dealt with local laws and legislation regulating the uses of artificial intelligence and the existing efforts in this field.
Hamdan bin Muhammad Al-Alawi, Director of the Artificial Intelligence Program Development Department at the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, explained that this seminar comes as an implementation of the initiatives included in the Executive Program for Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Technologies, which confirms the importance of spreading awareness of the capabilities of artificial intelligence and advanced technologies, as this program works to spread awareness of generative artificial intelligence and its applications in various fields. The seminar included many discussions on the topics raised, which reflects the extent of societal interest in these technologies.
