Oman’s import and local production of natural gas exceeds 32 billion cubic meters
Muscat: The Total domestic production and imports of natural gas in the Sultanate of Oman reached approximately 32,608 billion cubic meters by the end of July 2024, an increase of 5.5 percent compared to the same period in 2023, which stood at 30,914 billion.
Statistics issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information showed that industrial projects accounted for 63.6 percent of natural gas uses in the Sultanate of Oman until the end of July 2024, which amounted to 20 billion, 748 million and 400 thousand cubic meters.
The total use of natural gas for each of the following: oil fields amounted to 6 billion and 347 million cubic meters, power generation stations amounted to 5 billion and 366 million and 800 thousand cubic meters, and industrial areas amounted to 146 million and 300 thousand cubic meters.
Statistics showed that non-associated production of natural gas, including imports, amounted to 26 billion, 33 million, and 800 thousand cubic meters, while associated production amounted to 6 billion, 574 million, and 700 thousand cubic meters.
