Dr. Hamoud Ahmed Al Yahya’ee, Chairman of the Services and Social Development Committee at the Shura Council, member of OHRC, said at the opening of the symposium that the event is held within the framework of OHRC’s fulfilling its duty to promote and protect human rights, spread public awareness and highlight aspects of relevance to bridging the gap between rights and mechanisms of protecting them.

For his part, Dr. Mohammad Al Smadi, Secretary General of the Arab Parliamentarians Forum for Population and Development, told Oman News Agency (ONA) that there is ongoing cooperation between the Arab parliamentarians’ forum and OHRC.
