The total amount of oil exports by the Sultanate of Oman until the end of August 2023 amounted to about 205 million and 12 thousand and 900 barrels, calculating the average price per barrel at 79.8 US dollars, as oil exports constituted 80.1 percent of the total oil production amounting to 255 million and 814 thousand and 200 barrels.
Data issued by the National Center for Statistics and Information indicated that the total production of crude oil decreased by 2.5 percent to reach 199 million, 497 thousand and 800 barrels, while the total production of oil condensates increased by 7.4 percent, recording 56 million 316 thousand and 400 barrels, while the average daily oil production reached one million. And 52,700 barrels until the end of August 2023.
China topped the countries importing oil from the Sultanate of Oman, with total exports amounting to 186 million 212 thousand and 500 barrels, followed by Japan with 7 million 384 thousand and 500 barrels, then India with 2 million 716 thousand and 200 barrels, while exports to other countries amounted to 6 million 748 thousand and 100 barrels.
On the other hand, the total domestic production and import of natural gas reached 35 billion, 860 million and 200 thousand cubic meters until the end of August 2023, an increase of 1.8 percent compared to the similar period in 2022, when the total at that time reached 35 billion, 242 million and 700 thousand cubic meters. Statistics showed that industrial projects accounted for 58.5 percent of natural gas uses in the Sultanate of Oman until the end of August 2023, where uses for industrial projects amounted to 20 billion and 968 million and 900 thousand cubic meters.
The total use of natural gas for: oil fields amounted to 9 billion and 11 million and 500 thousand cubic meters, power generation stations amounted to 5 billion and 704 million and 700 thousand cubic meters, and industrial areas amounted to 175 million and 200 thousand cubic meters. It is worth noting that the non-associated production of natural gas, including imports, amounted to 28 billion and 681 million cubic meters, while the associated production amounted to 7 billion and 179 million and 300 thousand cubic meters.
