Dr. Qassim bin Ahmed Al Salmi, Director General of the Royal Hospital, said that performing 4 kidney transplants, along with what has been previously accomplished in this aspect, comes as a continuation of the series of efforts made to transplant human organs and tissues.

He stressed the hospital’s readiness and the efficiency of national cadres in the health sector to perform various surgical operations and deal with various health cases.

Dr. Nevin bint Ibrahim Al Kalbania, Senior Consultant of Pediatric Nephrology and Head of Organ Transplantation at the Royal Hospital, said that the process of organ transplantation and transfer is one of the most important pioneering operations in the health sector.

It is carried out by transferring a healthy organ from one body to another, with the aim of replacing the damaged or missing organ in the recipient’s body.
