Oman’s SAI Participates in Seminar on Promoting Independence of Supreme Audit Institutions

Doha: The State Audit Institution (SAI) took part today in a seminar on promoting the independence of supreme audit institutions in the Arab Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ARABOSAI) zone.

The two-day seminar, held in Doha, is jointly organized by the ARABOSAI and the INTOSAI Development Initiative (IDI).

SAI was represented during the event by Ahmed Salim Al Rujaibi, Deputy Chairman of SAI.

The event reflects the efforts of the ARABOSAI and the IDI in identifying gaps related to the independence of supreme audit institutions.

Several related topics are discussed during the seminar, including regional approaches regarding independence, the World Bank’s indicator and the strategic plan of the ARABOSAI, among other topics.

On the sidelines of the seminar, the SAI Deputy Chairman held several meetings with heads of counterpart audit institutions and representative of international organizations.

During those meetings, several areas of cooperation were reviewed, in addition to discussing matters of mutual interest. – ONA
