Muscat: Oman’s Supreme Committee members visit the COVID-19 patients Field hospital

Ministry of Health said online: His Excellency the Chairman of the Supreme Committee in charge of researching the mechanism of dealing with the Covid 19 virus and the members of their Excellencies visited the field hospital for Covid 19 patients to see the hospital’s readiness.

The Site of the Covid-19 field hospital is at the old Muscat Aiport.

His Excellency the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Muhammad Al-Hosani said: The number of beds in it reaches 312, but that the first phase will have a capacity of 100 beds, and a shelter center will be attached to the field hospital with an area of 10000 m2 and a capacity of 384 beds are housed and can be converted into a hospital if the need arises.

The field hospital is hopefully to be operated by September-end or early October said Undersecretary of MOH.

Undersecretary of MOH Al-Hosani added, that the field hospital will not receive the patients directly, but only those who need to be admitted and referred from other hospitals and health centers, as well as cases requiring intermediate care only, as for critical cases admitted in the hospital, they will be referred directly to the referral hospitals.
