Oman’s tourism Ministry to organise promotional campaign in Switzerland

Bern: The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism organized today a promotional workshop in federal Switzerland, chaired by Azzan bin Qasim Al Busaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism for Tourism, with the participation of a number of Omani tourism sector companies, Swiss travel and tourism companies, and in the presence of representatives of the media in Switzerland.

The Ministry will organize a number of promotional activities in the Swiss city of Zurich to introduce tour operators, travel agents and media institutions to the unique tourism potentials that characterize the Sultanate of Oman, in addition to informing them of developments in the tourism sector in the Sultanate of Oman. These promotional activities also aim to understand and identify the needs of companies. Swiss tourism and Swiss tourists alike, as the Swiss market has developed significantly as a source of tourists in the Sultanate of Oman, and visitor numbers show a full recovery to pre-pandemic numbers, as the Sultanate of Oman received 19,377 visitors from Switzerland in 2022, an increase of nearly 500% compared to the previous year.

Representatives from the Omani tourism sector, including Barceló Resort Mussanah, Kempinski Hotel Muscat, Sama Resort, InterContinental Hotels Group, Al Maamari Travel and Tourism, Magic Arabia, Bahwan Tourism, Infinite Travel and Tourism, and Sama Tourism, will participate in the promotional workshop.

The tourism agent will also participate in the joint business forum between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Switzerland in Lucerne, which will be held tomorrow through a platform for Swiss companies that have commercial relations with the Sultanate of Oman, and organized by the Omani-Swiss Friendship Association.
