Omantel celebrates graduation of 52 trainees in the 3rd Batch of Omantel Generation Z Training Program

Muscat: Omantel today celebrated the graduation of 52 trainees from the third batch of the “Generation Z” training program, which comes as part of the company’s efforts to support, qualify and refine national cadres.

The ceremony took place at Omantel’s headquarters under the patronage of Sayyid Dr. Munther bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Deputy Chairman of Oman Vision 2040, in the presence of  Talal Said Al Maamari, CEO of Omantel.

This training program, offered by Omantel to fresh graduates in the Sultanate of Oman, is part of the company’s ongoing efforts to support and prepare young talents. With the aim to hone their skills through an intensive training program that equips them wit the necessary skills for the future. The Generation Z program provides a stimulating training environment allowing trainees to apply the skills acquired during the program and gain practical experience by engaging with employees, understanding challenges, and finding creative and effective solutions.

The program also offers valuable and unique training opportunities for trainees to gain a close and practical understanding of the company’s operations through specialized courses and real-world project management. This equips them with the skills needed to handle their assigned responsibilities over the full year. In the previous two editions of the program, trainees worked on various projects, including process automation, enhancing consumer broadcasting services, and Omantel has executed some of these projects, now offering them as technological services and solutions to subscribers.

The “Generation Z” program has attracted 123 young men and women from various backgrounds over its’ three editions. They were selected based on specific criteria among thousands of applicants for these training opportunities. Omantel employed trainees from the first two editions to join the company’s young national workforce.

It is worth mentioning that Omantel announced last month the registration for the “Generation Z” program, targeting recent graduates in the technology sector. The company will announce the accepted applicants for the fourth edition of the program in the coming months after applicants meet the program’s specific requirements and criteria.
