Muscat: OMR 300 Fine, 10 days Jail When Using Mobile phone while driving in Oman

In a statement Oman Public Prosecution said: Using the hand to hold a mobile phone or any other electronic device while driving is an offense punishable by imprisonment for a period up to ten (10) days and a fine that extends to (300) three hundred Omani Rials

Let’s leave the phone aside

Meanwhile ROP said, So dear driver: The use of the phone while driving is no longer meaningful with the amended law in this regard, since the violation has become aggravating due to traffic accidents, harm to others and disruption of traffic on the road, which may be there who is most in need of all a second.

The Royal Oman Police will spare no effort in devoting counseling campaigns to prevent the use of the phone and literally apply the law against violators, as this phenomenon has become more and more frequent on the roads, and we urge everyone not to use the phone in order first of all to protect their lives and secondly to protect the lives and property of others. The phone is set aside for a short period so that we do not fall under the penalty of law, and so that we put this phenomenon in the records of the past and preserve the life of the same person and others, our demand and our goal as an Omani society with all its segments and responsibilities,  .. God protect everyone from all harm,  said in the statement ROP.
