OMSB celebrates graduation of 15th batch of Omani doctors

Muscat: The Oman Medical Specialty Board (OMSB) celebrated the graduation of the 15th batch of doctors who completed the training period in the Board, ranging from four to six academic years for specialized training programs, and two to three years for local fellowships, at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The number of graduates of this batch reached 120 male and female graduates from 3 specialties in the local fellowship, namely: cardiology for adults, genetic medicine, and hematology and oncology for children, and in 17 medical specialties, namely: anesthesia, dermatology, ear, nose and throat surgery, emergency medicine, family medicine, general surgery and dentistry. General, hematology, histopathology, internal medicine, microbiology, obstetrics and gynecology, ophthalmology, orthopedics, pediatrics, psychiatry and radiology.

Dr. Siham bint Salem Al-Sananiyya, Vice President of the Council for Professional Efficiency Affairs, said in her speech: Educational institutions and research centers are the basis of scientific and knowledge building, and the basis of medical progress, and student training coincides with the rapid developments that the world is witnessing in various fields as a result of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and its repercussions and the accompanying technical revolution. In various fields. During the ceremony, a visual presentation was presented about the doctors’ journey and their response during the years of training at the Council.

The ceremony was attended by Her Excellency Dr. Fatima bint Mohammed Al-Ajmiyah, CEO of the Omani Board for Medical Specialties, a number of Their Excellencies undersecretaries, members of the Shura Council, members of the Council’s teaching staff, and parents of graduate doctors.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, the sponsor of the occasion, His Excellency Dr. Hilal bin Ali Al-Sabti, Minister of Health, distributed certificates of appreciation in honor of the distinguished doctors from the faculty members and the distinguished resident doctors, in addition to distributing graduation certificates to 120 specialized doctors, both male and female, and honoring graduates with international achievements.
