OMSB executive board holds its 3rd meeting for 2023

Muscat: Oman Medical Speciality Board’s (OMSB) Executive Council held its third meeting for 2023, under the auspices of Dr. Houd bin Abdullah Al-Abri, Vice President for Academic Affairs.who directs the executive Council’s tasks.

The meeting discussed the approval of new specialized training and fellowship programmes, including the Neurology residency programme, the developmental behavioural Paediatrics fellowship programme and the Adult Gastroenterology fellowship programme.

The meeting touched on developments in training programmes and plans, which include oversight of programmes’ changes introduced by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education(ACGME-I), and the annual update of internal accreditation data.

The meeting reviewed the internal accreditation reports related to the orthopedic surgery residency programme and the internal accreditation report for Nizwa Hospital (as a training center).

The meeting approved Fatigue management policy, which includes ways of managing cases of mental and physical stress. The programme targets trainees and outlines preventive, supervisory, evaluation, and remediation measures.
