Opening of Philex Pharmaceuticals Factory in Salalah Free Zone on Wednesday

The Salalah Free Zone will celebrate the opening of the Philex Pharmaceutical Industries Company, with investments amounting to about $150 million, on Wednesday.

The opening ceremony of the factory will be sponsored by Dr. Hilal bin Ali Al Sabti, Minister of Health.

The factory is the latest project in the field of pharmaceutical industries in the Sultanate of Oman, which aims to transform the Salalah Free Zone into a regional center for the pharmaceutical and biological industries.

The project included 3 development phases, including the establishment of an advanced factory for pharmaceutical products and a center for development and research. The company plans to produce more than 100 pharmaceuticals, including various types of drugs in the current phase, and vaccines in the second phase, with a production capacity of one billion tablets and one billion capsules annually for the first phase.

The factory is currently witnessing opportunities and operational plans locally and internationally, and its products are marketed in the Sultanate of Oman, the State of Qatar, and a number of other countries in the region. The factory was built according to approved international specifications, which qualifies it to enter the global markets.
