OQ Opens the Innovation Lab at Vocational College in Salalah

Salalah: OQ Innovation Laboratory, which is equipped with the latest technologies in the field of artificial intelligence and modern technologies, was opened today at the Vocational College in Salalah.

The college is an affiliate of the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation. The lab is funded by OQ Salalah company.

The opening ceremony was held under the auspices of HH Sayyid Marwan Turki Al Said, Governor of Dhofar, and attended by Dr. Rahma Ibrahim Al Mahrouqi, Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, among other officials.

The laboratory aims at enabling students of the college, adjoining schools and other educational institutions, as well as the local community, to use the lab as a modeling centre.

The project stems from the national innovation system being implemented in line with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040 and the National Strategy for Innovation, Research and Development.

The lab will hone the skills of the students and other beneficiaries and encourage them to innovate in various technical fields.
