OQ signs a MoU with SAP

Muscat: OQ, the global integrated energy group, and SAP global technology company signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for new cloud-based solutions and activities.

The MoU was signed at the COMEX 2023 technology event held in Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre (OCEC).

The partnership will explore the viability of migrating OQ’s SAP IT systems and portfolio of assets to SAP’s leading ERP platform and explore other digital innovation initiatives.

Maryam Ahmed Al Shaibani, VP of Integrated Digital Solution at OQ said, “As we continue to grow and diversify our operations, it is important for OQ to have an integrated system that is scalable, flexible, and future-proof. We are working with SAP to explore how its solutions could help us to achieve this goal. We are also collaborating on ways to enhancing digital skills in Oman through SAP virtual training programmes.”

On his turn, Alaa Jaber, Managing Director for SAP Fast Growth Markets said that this partnership will contribute to developing the digital abilities of Oman. He added that SAP’s training programmes aim to empower the Omani workforce, paving the way for a robust and digitally skilled talent pool. – ONA
