Budapest: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by OQ, the global integrated energy Group, will at the Socca World Cup in Hungary during September 10-18.
The OQ Football Team will participate alongside 43 national teams from different world countries.
Ashraf Al Mamari, Chief Executive of People, Technology, and Culture at OQ, expressed OQ pride in its team representing Oman in the competition hosted by Hungary.
“OQ’s representation at the event reflects the group’s interest in organizing sports and other activities among youth as part of its well-being initiatives and social investment program. OQ Group implements several initiatives aimed at serving the Omani youth and increasing bonds among people. This participation also enhances OQ values of collaboration and teamwork”, he added.
“I hope that OQ’s participation in this event will bring in success and create an overall positive impact on this important global sports forum. The participation comes after the OQ football team topped other teams in the qualifying round in the Sultanate. The teams participating in the third edition of the competition were divided into eight groups”, he concluded.
The winning team will receive the Socca World Cup title. The first edition of the tournament, which was held in 2018 in Canada, witnessed participation from 16 countries. The Group in which OQ takes part includes teams from Germany, Nigeria, Algeria, and Latvia.
