Muscat: OQ Group welcomed the eleventh batch of graduates into its Graduate Development Programme, comprising 220 new employees. This brings the total number of programme graduates to 1,798.

This initiative reflects OQ’s commitment to developing national talent as part of its human capital investment strategy, empowering Oman’s youth.

Engineer Ali Mohammed Al Lawati, Chief People & Technology Officer at OQ, highlighted OQ’s dedication to nurturing national talent to empower Omani youth and create job opportunities across the group’s companies.

He explained that the selection of this new batch of graduates followed a rigorous evaluation process to identify top candidates. The selected graduates will undergo a training programme across various sectors and departments to refine their skills and be placed in roles suited to their specialisation. The programme has been designed in line with best practices to provide graduates with an exceptional learning and training experience that fulfils the organisation’s need for skilled professionals. Al Lawati highlighted that OQ, with an Omanisation rate of 84% by the end of September 2024, supports local employment not only through direct hiring but also by working with contractors and suppliers to meet Omanisation targets. This approach aligns with OQ’s local content initiatives.

In collaboration with Takatuf Oman, awarded scholarships to 128 students from public and private schools through the Oman Pioneers Scholarship Programme. This initiative aims to support outstanding students in pursuing studies at leading international universities, fostering human development and helping students shape their academic paths.

Between 2020 and 2024, OQ also provided training for over 2,785 interns, as part of its ongoing commitment to education and talent development. The group supports initiatives aimed at empowering Omani youth, actively encouraging government-led localisation policies.
