South Al Sharqiyah Governorate celebrates OMIFCO Scientific Excellence Award 2022/2023

Muscat: The Directorate-General of Education in South Al Sharqiyah Governorate celebrated for the eighth year in a row today the “OMIFCO” Scientific Excellence Award to honor academically excellent students for the academic year 2022/2023 under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser Al Harrasi, Minister of Information.

The number of students who excelled in the general education diploma results reached 106 students who achieved first ranks in the academic achievement results for grades five to eleven at the level of the five states in the governorate, in addition to students who excelled in special education and auditory integration, and those who excelled in private schools.

Participants in international projects and competitions, robotics competitions, the Shell competition, the citizenship education project, and schools that ranked first in the results of the general education diploma.

The Sultan Qaboos School for Boys achieved first place, the Ahmed Bin Majid School for Boys came in second place, and the Abbas Bin Abdul Muttalib School for Basic Education came in third place.

As for girls’ schools, Bilad Bani Bu Ali School for Basic Education achieved first place, Bilad Bani Bu Hassan School for Basic Education came in second place, and Bilad Bani Bu Hassan School for Basic Education came in second place. Al-Bandar Al-Jadeed for Basic Education is in third place.

Abdullah bin Ali Al-Fouri, Director General of the General Directorate of Education in the South Al Sharqiyah Governorate, said that the educational system in the South Al Sharqiyah Governorate seeks, within the framework of its tireless efforts, to advance students in various educational and innovative fields, and to raise the level of academic achievement in the field of science, mathematics, and information technology.

The OMIFCO Award for Scientific Excellence aims to create a spirit of competition between schools in the field of scientific excellence, motivate schools to care for students, develop their academic achievement, and encourage teachers to use systematic aids to improve academic achievement.
