Muscat: The total number of vehicles registered in the Sultanate of Oman reached 1,603,376 by the end of December 2022, according to the latest data issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).
Vehicles with private registration constituted 79.4% of the total vehicles registered in Oman, to stand at 1,273,791, while the number of vehicles with commercial registration reached 238,512, constituting 14.9% of the total number of vehicles.
Meanwhile, rental vehicles reached 28,633, comprising 1.8% and the number of taxi vehicles stood at 28,117, comprising 1.8%. The number of government vehicles (military vehicles excluded) stood at 12,167 and motorbikes stood at 6,765.
The number of driving instruction vehicles stood at 5,744 and the number of vehicles with temporary registration (temporary inspection, export and import) stood at 7,528.
