Muscat: The number registered commercial activities with the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion during the last quarter of 2021 reached 144,131 activities, compared to 25,550 in the same period in 2020, an increase of 100%.
The ministry said that the activity of “grocery” stores topped the most recorded activities with 22,912 activities, followed by the building and construction contracting activity (general construction of residential and non-residential buildings) with 2,2001 activities, the refrigerator activity with 20,965 activities, the registration of catering activity with 20,473 activities, and the activity of export and import offices 10,536 activities were recorded.
The retail activity in specialized luxury stores recorded 10,518 activities, the retail activity in specialized stores for ready-made clothes was 10,408 activities, and the men’s hairdressing and shaving activity amounted to 9,512 activities, and the repair, plumbing and car painting activity with 8,631 activities, and the tailoring and sewing of women’s clothes activity, which recorded 8175 activities. .
