Sohar Hosts Final Rounds of 7th Reading Star Competition
Sohar: The final rounds of the 7th edition of the “Reading Star” competition, organized by the Directorate General of Education in North Al Batinah Governorate, commenced today at the Sultan Qaboos Grand Library in Sohar, with the participation of more than 280 contestants from various age groups.
The final rounds of the competition will continue until February 9, 2026, during which participants will be assessed by a specialized jury committee according to approved evaluation criteria.
These criteria include reading speed, accuracy of documentation, diversity of reading materials, as well as speaking skills and voice clarity, reflecting the competition’s objectives of promoting reading culture, critical thinking, and effective communication skills among students.
