Muscat: A new report published by Singapore-based Research Institute Data Report on its website confirmed that internet users in the Sultanate of Oman increased by 104,000 (2.1 percent) between 2021 and 2022.
The report added that these user numbers reveal that 251.4 thousand people in the Sultanate of Oman did not use the Internet at the beginning of 2022, which means that 4.8 percent of the population remained offline at the beginning of the year.
The report stated that the number of Internet users in the Sultanate reached 5.02 million users in January 2022.
The report also added that the internet penetration rate in the Sultanate of Oman reached 95.2% of the total population at the beginning of 2022.
The report pointed out that the average mobile internet connection speed in the Sultanate is 45.08 Mbps, and the average fixed internet connection speed is 44.71 Mbps.
The number of social media users in the Sultanate of Oman reached 4.39 million users in January 2022, equivalent to 83.2 percent of the total population, as the number of users increased by 250 thousand users between 2021 and 2022.
