Muscat: The Sultan Qaboos Higher Centre for Culture and Science at the Diwan of Royal Court, which supervises the 32nd edition of the Sultan Qaboos Holy Quran Competition this year, announced today the qualification of (59) male and female contestants to the final rounds. The competition included 7 levels in the field of memorization and recitation of the Holy Quran.
Dr. Saeed bin Hamid Al-Dhuwayani, Deputy Chairman of the Preliminary and Final Qualification Committees of the Sultan Qaboos Holy Quran Competition, said: The competition’s evaluation committee decided today to qualify 8 contestants for the final qualifiers of the competition from the first level (memorizing the entire Holy Quran), 8 qualifiers from the second level (memorizing 24 consecutive parts), 9 qualifiers from the third level (memorizing 18 consecutive parts), 8 qualifiers from the fourth level (memorizing 12 consecutive parts for those aged 25 years and under), 8 qualifiers from the fifth level (memorizing 6 consecutive parts for those aged 14 years and under), 9 qualifiers from the sixth level (memorizing 4 consecutive parts for those aged 10 years and under), and 9 qualifiers from the seventh level (memorizing two consecutive parts for those aged 7 years and under).
Al-Dhuwayani pointed out that the final qualifiers for the competition at the level of all governorates of the Sultanate of Oman will be held starting from the 24th of this month in the lecture hall of the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque in Bousher, with the participation of all the (59) male and female contestants who qualified for the final qualifiers out of (1790) male and female contestants who participated in the preliminary qualifiers, which ended last week.
