Over 65 activities in Dhofar Khareef Season 2023: Ministry

Salalah: The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth completed preparations to carry out the activities of the 2023 Dhofar Khareef (monsoon) season’s cultural and sports.

Musa Abdullah Al Kasabi, Director General for Culture, Sports and Youth at Dhofar Governorate told Oman News Agency (ONA) that the event covers a total of 65 activities catering to all segments of society, including citizens, residents and tourists.

He added that the activities of this season will include various programs and events for various segments of society, especially the youth category, which is the target group of the activities of the Khareef Dhofar Cultural and Sports Season. Information technology, montage, directing, marketing, and the Toastmaster competition, which is a competition in the skill of communication, public speaking, and public speaking, in addition to courses in the field of fashion design, dialogue sessions, and a youth exhibition for creativity and innovation.

Regarding the sporting events that will be held during the Khareef Dhofar season, Musa bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi, Director General of the Directorate General of Culture, Sports and Youth in Dhofar Governorate, said: A swimming, bowling, snooker, billiards and tennis tournament will be organized, and a football tournament that includes a number of competitions, namely: buds, states, and institutions government, and the private sector.

He added: There will be a karate tournament, a chess tournament, an athletics tournament, a table tennis tournament, workshops on sports injuries and club coordinators, in addition to organizing a number of women’s activities in bowling, chess and electronic sports, an open sports day, a group and individual games tournament for clubs, and the celebration of Omani Women’s Day.

The Director General of the Directorate General of Culture, Sports and Youth in Dhofar Governorate confirmed that the various facilities of the Sultan Qaboos Youth Complex for Culture and Entertainment in Salalah will be available to hold most of those cultural, sports and youth events that have been carefully selected to meet the desires and tendencies of different age groups.
