Over 75,000 SMEs registered in Oman till April 2022

Muscat:  The total number of  small and medium enterprises (SMEs) have registered with the SMEs Development Authority in the Sultanate of Oman increased by 44.3 percent by the end of April 2022, to reach 75,800 institutions, compared to 52,524 institutions during the same period in 2021.

The latest data issued by the National Center for Statistics and Information indicated that the Musandam Governorate topped the growth in the number of small and medium enterprises during this period with a growth rate of 100.5%, and the Al Wusta Governorate came in second place with a growth rate of 68.4 percent, and the Dhofar Governorate third with a growth rate of 67.1 percent.

While Al Dhahirah Governorate achieved the lowest growth rate in the number of micro, small and medium enterprises at the end of April 2022, at a rate of 31.7 percent compared to the end of April 2021.

As for the Governorate of Muscat, it obtained the largest percentage of the number of small, small and medium enterprises at the end of April 2022 AD, with a number of 25 thousand and 651 institutions, and the Governorate of North Al Batinah came in second place, with 11 thousand and 743 institutions, while Al Dakhiliyah Governorate came in third place with 8 thousand and 679 Establishment.
