Over 800,000 transactions completed through Oman’s ‘Invest Easy’ portal

The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion stated that the number of online transactions that were completed from the beginning of January to the end of October of the year 2022, through the “Invest Easy” online portal at the front offices of the Ministry, directorates, departments, self-service, free zones (Sohar – Duqm – Al Mazyuna) and law firms Sanad offices reached 802,524 transactions, increase by 26.36 percent, compared to the same period in 2021, which amounted to 635,103 transactions.

The Ministry emphasized that this increase came as a result of many stakeholders benefiting from the effectiveness of the “Invest Easy” online portal, as it is noted that there is a positive change rate in the number of transactions completed through the Ministry’s front offices, self-service, law firms, and Sanad offices.

The Information, Data and Statistics Department of the Ministry indicated that the transactions that were completed during the past ten months of this year through the front offices of the Ministry amounted to 65 thousand and 196 transactions, compared to 45 thousand and 995 transactions during the same period last year, and the completion of 194 thousand and 132 transactions through the affiliated departments and directorates. Ministry, compared to 195 thousand and 643 completed transactions during the same period last year.

The ministry stated that the number of transactions that were completed through self-service from the beginning of January to the end of October of this year amounted to 226,140 transactions, compared to 132,934 transactions during the same period in the year 2021.

The number of transactions that were completed through the free zones (Sohar – Duqm – Al Mazunah) reached 4,627 transactions, and the number of transactions that were completed through law firms reached 2,818 compared to 1,662 transactions from last year. During the past ten months, Sanad recorded 309,611 transactions compared to the same period last year with 253,044 transactions.

The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion emphasized that directing investors to conduct their transactions by using self-e-services provided through the “Invest Easy” portal contributes to the speedy completion of transactions, achieving clarity in procedures and the possibility of updating all company data electronically, in addition to saving time and effort. The electronic portal contributes to making the Sultanate of Oman a suitable environment for conducting various commercial and investment activities.
