Oman’s Ministry issued Over 9000 water licences in 2023

Muscat: The Ministry of Agricultural Wealth, Fisheries and Water Resources (MAFWR) issued 9,167 water licenses in 2023, according to the statistics issued by the MAFWR.

Statistics issued by the Water Licensing Department in the Ministry’s General Directorate of Water Resources Management, which cover the period between January and December in 2023, revealed that the licenses issued according to the months of the past year 2023 were distributed as follows: 1,100 licenses in January, 783 licenses in February, and 681 licenses in March, 661 licenses in April, 785 licenses in May, 720 licenses in June, 725 licenses in July, 660 licenses in August, 623 licenses in September, 861 licenses in October, 800 licenses in November, and 768 licenses in December, for a total of 9,167 licenses.

The water licenses issued during the past year varied between applications for well registration, applications for well licenses, applications for dams and falaj, applications for well drilling contractors, in addition to applications for development projects.
