MTCIT signs agreement worth RO 151mln for Diba-Lima-Khasab road project in Musandam Governorate

Muscat: The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology today signed a project agreement worth more than RO 151 million, for the design and implementation of the Diba-Lima-Khasab road and the road link to the Lima Niyabat in the Musandam Governorate, with a total length of about 70 km.

The agreement was signed with Al Sarooj Construction Company included the designing and constructing a 70-km road starting from the Wilayat of Diba to the Wilayat of Khasab, via Lima Niyabat.

The agreement was signed by HE Eng Said Hamoud Al Ma’awali, Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, Ghazi Al Helou, the executive member of Al Sarooj Construction Company’s board.

The project is considered one of the most vital and strategic projects that the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology is working on within its strategic plan, as the road will be a driver of economic sectors and an important development engine to facilitate the movement of citizens and residents between the states of the governorate, in addition to serving the villages and population centers located on both sides of the road, in addition to its role. In maximizing the economic and tourism benefits of the governorate.

The signing of the agreement was attended by HE Sultan Salim Al Habsi, Minister of Finance, and HE Sayyid Ibrahim Said Al Busaidi, Governor of Musandam.
