Muscat: The eighth round of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan was held at the General Diwan of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Omani side was headed by His Excellency Ambassador Sheikh Ahmed bin Hashel Al Maskari, Head of the GCC and Regional Neighborhood Department, while the Pakistani side was headed by His Excellency Shahryar Akbar Khan, Assistant Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
During the consultations, bilateral relations between the two friendly countries were discussed, with emphasis on both sides’ keenness to continue developing cooperation in all fields. During the meeting, the Pakistani side informed the Omani side of the Pakistani government’s decision to exempt Omani citizens from obtaining prior travel visas to Pakistan, and to grant them an entry visa at the airport with a valid residence for 90 days. The Omani side expressed its appreciation for this step, which would enhance the exchange of visits between the citizens of the two countries.
The session was attended by His Excellency Ambassador Fahad bin Sulaiman Al Kharousi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and His Excellency Ambassador Muhammad Imran Ali Chowdhury, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the Sultanate of Oman, along with a number of officials from both sides.
