PDO Receives International Recognition in HR Field

Muscat: Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) has become the first organization in the Middle East to achieve People Development Partner status from the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), the world’s leading professional body for human resources and people development.

PDO has achieved this by working closely with the CIPD team over the past several years, investing heavily in increasing the impact of its people function, ensuring their professionalism through CIPD qualifications and experience assessments, and providing entry-level jobs for people professionals.

CIPD Regional Director MENA Stuart Dunlop said: “We are delighted to recognize PDO as our first People Development Partner in the Middle East. The award demonstrates an exceptional degree of commitment to developing people professionals. To achieve PDP status, organizations must demonstrate a clear commitment to developing the capability and credibility of their people function.”

On his turn, CEO of CIPD Peter Cheese, commended PDO for their ongoing excellence and for leading the way in the Middle East by investing in their people professionals to help them adapt to the changing world of work.

Meanwhile, PDO People Director Farid Al Harthy said: “We are honoured to have achieved PDP status from the CIPD, which recognizes our commitment to developing our people and building a world-class human resources function. This is a significant achievement for PDO, and we are proud to be leading the way in the Middle East.”
