Muscat: The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology explained that the project work for the remaining parts of the first phase of the Batinah Coastal Road, which was assigned by the Tender Board today, includes completing the unimplemented parts in the first phase of the project with a total length of 30 km, including paving 22 km of the parts.
The remaining parts of the first part of the first phase (Barka – Suwaiq Port), and the paving of 8 kilometers for the remaining parts of the second part of the first phase (Sohar Port – Khatma Milaha).
The Ministry stated that the project work also includes the implementation of the duplication of the Barka Souq link, 4 km long, and the Suwaiq Wilayat link, 6 km long, with the construction of the Suwaiq Bridge on the Al Batinah Main Road, with the aim of stimulating commercial and economic movement and linking the logistics system between the ports of Barka and Al Suwaiq, and Khazaen Economic City.
It is noteworthy that the Batinah Coastal Road project begins from the Wilayat of Barka and ends in Khatma Milaha in the Wilayat of Shinas, with a total length of 244 km. The project was divided into two phases. The first phase includes two parts, the first starting from Al Naseem Interchange in the Wilayat of Barka until Al Suwaiq Port, with a length of 66 km, while the second part begins. From Sohar Port to Khatma Milaha, a length of 67 km, and the second phase of the project extends from Suwaiq Port to Sohar Port, with a length of 111 km.
