Muscat (ONA): With the arrival of the Omani-owned container vessel recently acquired by Asyad Shipping, the port of Sohar will be receiving tomorrow, Sunday, its first direct container shipment via the new direct shipping line launched by Oman, represented by Asyad Group, with the Singaporean and Malaysian ports.

The opening of this direct shipping line feeds into the initiatives implemented by Asyad Group to promote the competitiveness of the Sultanate of Oman’s ports, enhance their operational efficiency and harness their logistics potential by linking them via direct lines with various global commercial ports, to provide an added value to the national economy and cement Oman’s position as a global logistics hub and transit gateway.

This new container line is set to increase trade relations with Asian countries, provide competitive advantages to the local and regional business community, enhance all national exports to and from Singaporean and Malaysia and neighboring markets, and provide Omani traders with a fast, time-and cost-effective access to Singapore as a international distribution hub and subsequently to Southeast Asian markets
